As I stated earlier high tides were limiting me to do things but I still managed to find an off beat scene … courtesy to Hawaiian Airline magazine. The Japanese street fashion display at Honolulu museum of arts. It was a small display but museum was fairly big with lots of exhibits. It is an independent museum with collection of contemporary art, Islamic and Indian artefacts. Some of which were really magnificent. I had to take a rain check because of my photography tour, which began around 1 PM and ended up at sunset. Our guide Marie (owner of Blue Hawaii Photo tours) was really knowledgeable about photography and the island. She took us to some serene remote locations including lava rock beach, waterfall and a great place to take pictures of the sunset.
She was really engaging and helped all of us with our camera settings and composition. Using her professional experience she encouraged us to experiment with our camera. By the end of the day, I was famished and took refuge at PF Changs for dinner. PF Changs is not bad but it is a franchise restaurant and in Honolulu you don’t have to go to a franchise restaurant as you have so many local options to pick from, if you just look for them. If you are interested in seeing some beach side fireworks then you should know that Hilton Hawaiian village has firework display every Friday around 7:45 PM. You can see them from anywhere around Waikiki beach. I was sort of Sulking about leaving Hawaii next day but then I realised I still have one more day… to be continued.
