Waking up was such a daunting task. I was dead tired after day 2 and to overcome the exhaustion I decided to go for breakfast at the Moana Surf Rider, one of the best hotels in Waikiki with sumptuous food. The restaurant’s location was idyllic, right at the beach. After having my typical American breakfast I was on my way to the other side of the island, to Kailua Beach Park, 30 minutes from Waikiki. Kailua side of the island is different as it has more white sand beaches including some secluded ones. It was crowded with readers, paddle boarders, swimmers et cetera. Met a 70 year old who swims there daily at-least for 5 miles just for exercise … well beat that. However, place was perfect to spend a few hours doing nothing, and it gave me an opportunity to re-energize myself. After that my tummy started growling which meant it was time for lunch.
I stumbled upon a small, low-key restaurant “Uahi Island Grill” that have been covered by the Food Network. The restaurant offered a fusion of traditional and modern Hawaiian cuisine. Pricing was modest and taste was to die for. While heading back to Waikiki I decided to cover the coastal road, which includes some picturesque landscapes and serene beaches of Oahu. I really wanted to enjoy another Hawaiian sunset and I did and it was wonderful. Back in Waikiki the nightlife was pretty vibrant and to get a taste of it I Google Waikiki’s top ten bars. The Beach bar was top in the list. I turned on the navigation and started walking. Unwittingly I ended up at the Moana Surf Rider’s Beach bar. I was so grateful to Google but Beach Bar turned out to be a “who’s who” place. I decided to call it an early night because on Day 4 I was catching an early morning flight to the island of Kauai. Day 4 turned out be a different experience altogether … to be continued.
